In 2002 he meets Wendy Lewis, the official Jestofunk vocalist. Together with talented musician Pierluigi D’Amadio, their friendship and love for music leads to his first production, Secret, wich was played by the Godfather of house music Tony Humphries, Luis Radio and many more, and was positively rated by top djs/producers like Brian Tappert from Soulfuric, Graham from the Audiowhores, Ron Carroll, Mix2Inside, WCRX 88.1 FM Chicago, Dave Lynam on House FM show (UK).
His next production, Orchestra Latina – “Latin Drops” (out on SoleMusic in Jan 2004) is number #2 in the DJ Mag Jan 2004 Hype Chart……but CJ Mackintosh was already playing the demo CDR in August 2003 at Pacha Club, Ibiza…and then the vinyl went in the record bags of Tony Humphries, Kiko Navarro, Kenny Carpenter, Slammin’ Boys, Marcia Carr and many more.
At the Miami 2004 Winter Music Conference, Matteo’s new production TwoHalf feat. Wendy Lewis – “Praise His Name” is played at the best parties by Tony Humphries, AudioWhores, Kenny Carpenter, Luis Radio, Mr. Mike…..to name a few…not forgetting Jamie Lewis wich had the track in his chart. “Praise His Name” was released in double vinyl on MAP Dance records (Switzerland) in four different mixes, including Valerio Galli and Groove Junkies remixes.
After a funny session in the studio with living legend Kenny Carpenter from Studio 54, a new track was born: “Back to Paradise [Garage] ” (2005). Produced by Matteo Ionescu & Valerio Galli, featuring vocals by Kenny Carpenter celebrating the fabulous clubs of the eighties. The track is featured on Jay J’s “Connected” compilation, out on Defected records! Soon loved by Tony Humphries, Luis Radio, Groove Assassin and many more.
